Question by Answers: Classroom control when teaching abroad and you don't speak the language?
I'm teaching English at an elementary school in Korea but I don't speak Korean and the children's English level is very low. Please could you give me some practical advice on how to manage the classroom (particularly inappropriate chatting) when we can't speak each other's language sufficiently?
The grades one to three children often speak Korean amongst themselves and talk while I'm speaking.
